August 23 - August 27
Painted Bar Stables offers a 1 week horseback riding youth program the end of August. This is a family run co-ed program with limited availability (5 riders) for children 10-15 years old.
All riders will be assigned their own horse for the week and will take two lessons each day: an arena lesson and a trail riding lesson. Once during the week riders compete in pony club games and on the last day, campers will be taken to the Finger Lakes National Forest for a full day of trail riding, camping and swimming with their horses!
Because Painted Bar Stables specializes in trail riding, all lessons and experiences will be geared towards encouraging our riders to develop the following skills:
- Walk and Trot
- Relationship Building with their Horse
- Problem Solving and Dealing with Fear
- Barn and Stable Management
